750 ml bottle into both a snifter and a teku. Bottled 6/14/16, had 7/8.

Pours a rich purple, very cloudy, with a one and a half to two finger head of pink/purplish foam and a good amount of foamy lacing. Smell is citrus hops- mango, pineapple, orange, some resiny hops, blueberries- more as it warms. Taste brings blueberries, resiny hops, some dank, earthy hops on the finish, less citrus than the nose. Medium bitterness throughout, a sweet note after the swallow. Smooth. refreshing, somewhat dry, a medium body that's well carbonated.

The blueberries are definitely the star, intense and flavorful in both aroma and flavor. A fun one to drink. Well worth a purchase.

Pours a very nice shade of blueberry purplish red and a thin layer of purple foam.

Honey like sweetness and a heaping hand of tart fresh blueberries.

Very pungent blueberry flavor, the hop profile is takes a back seat to the sweet and slightly tart blueberry character.

Light-bodied, low carbonation, juice like.

Overall, while tasty, this beer leans a little watery and more juice like than an IPA.

Bottled just days ago on 6/14/16.

It pours a gray-toned purple color with a finger of purple-tinted white head that leaves strong lacing. Interesting aroma of strong blueberries, cream, pineapple, coconut and other tropical fruits behind.

The mouthfeel is thick and lush with appropriately heavy carbonation. While the nose comes across as a classic East Coast IPA with a shit ton of blueberries thrown in there, the taste veers more West Coast, and, unfortunately, isn't as good. You get that creaminess at first, which I assume is from the honey, and then a flash of the blueberry/pineapple/coconut flavor profile from the nose is there mid-palate. But there's a strong and lingering bitter hop aftertaste that does not pair particularly well with the tartness of the berries.

Overall, this is an exciting attempt at a fruited DIPA, but ultimately, I would have preferred they cut back on the bitterness and kept the pineapple hop profile going through the aftertaste. The honey addition here is just about perfect, though, leaving a creaminess and sweetness throughout the entire thing. A little tinkering with the hops and this could be world class. Love the bottle art, too.

750 ml bottle, no bottled on date, but this was just bottled 2 days ago, delivered fresh. “Double India Pale Ale with honey & blueberries” per the label.

Poured into Mikerphone Brewing stemware.

A - Pours a truly stunning purple blueberry juice body, with a quarter inch of purple-white foam that mainly settles in as a ring, leaving some mild fluffy spotty lacing. Appears adequately carbonated. Looks more like a nice juice than it does beer. 4

S - Aroma is big & bright - insanely huge blueberry nose on this one. Juicy, with tons of huge floral fruity hops. 4

T - Flavor follows the nose: bursting with huge authentic blueberry juice, and tons of delicious dry hop-derived fruitiness - huge notes of mango, papaya, melon, apricot, peach, nectarine, tangerines, oranges. Insanely juicy and fruity. Sweet, yes, but honey doesn’t particularly stand out - it is mostly overrun by the fruitiness of the hops and blueberries. Surprisingly dry on the finish. 4.5

M - Feel is extremely smooth, fruity, juicy. Ridiculously fresh, light-bodied, and easy drinking stuff, especially for 8.00% abv. Not a trace of alcohol to be found in this. Well carbonated. Dry & juicy blueberry finish, lots of residual blueberry pulp / puree. 4.5

Overall, a ridiculously well-done fruited IPA from Mikerphone; this is some seriously next level type shit. Can’t wait to see more of these.
