"Batch 002". Bottled 3/20/17; drank 3/25/17 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dull orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice white head; a thick curtain of lace.
Peach, bubblegum, melon & faint booze heat notes in the nose.
Soft, medium mouthfeel.
Peach, cane sugar & bubblegum flavors up front; dry grass, mild booze heat & faint caramel notes on the finish.
Flavorful & enjoyable; just a bit too hot & dry.

Pours a dark rather matte brownish orange color. Completely opaque. Thin soapy white head dissipates steadily to a thin layer of velvety foam.
Smell has lots of orange, a sweet fruity flavor that is reminiscent of a orange fruit roll-up. Bit of some bitter grassy aromas on the back end.
Taste has some citrus and orange notes, juicy fruit fruit punch juice, and fruity candy roll-up, bit of grassy bitterness, lingering on the tongue.
Feel is very full and thick, heavy for a DIPA. Medium carbonation.
Overall its a perfectly fine DIPA, but if it wasn't a Mikerphone beer, I just don't think people would think as highly of this beer.

Thanks to TSF3535 for this 750ML bottle. My first brew from this place was excellent, hoping for a repeat. Split with my wife.
Who looks at it & asks “what is this”? After listing brewery, name, style, & paternal family tree, she looks at it & says, “yes, but what IS it?” It is a color I haven’t seen in beer-dom previously, like dishwater after washing mustard off the family dinner plates. Smells like a Vinales fruit market.
Rockin’ The Suburbs is attracting fruit bats from as far away as Forestville. Huge Dole Fruit Cup greets the tongue , complete with that sweet pseudo-solution that it’s stored in. Ascendant is pineapple, mango, citrus, & something exotic that I can’t identify. Dankess mid-palate & quick flash of low-level bitterness keeps this from cloying. Thick & heavier than your standard IIPA, this is currently clashing with my an egg-salad sandwich for room in my digestive track.
Looks aren’t everything, & I remind my mirror of that fact every day. Good beer.

L - pineapple/orange juice. Looks like cider. Nice head.
S - smells like fruit roll ups. Candied tropical fruits. V8 splash. Amazing aroma.
T - over ripe fruit juice, earthy, dank, and yeasty. Mild bitterness.
F - creamy and smooth.
Overall- Absolute crusher. For me, a near perfect rating. Only knock of these styles for me is that yeasty flavor they tend to impart.
