Batch 024. Bottled 5/5/17; drank 5/11/17 @ the Brokerage (Trek).
Midnight black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a HUGE dark khaki head; frothy tree-rung lace.
Cinnamon, cream & milk chocolate notes in the nose.
Creamy, thick mouthfeel.
Cinnamon & black coffee flavors up front; cream milk chocolate notes on the finish. No booze heat.
Very tasty; not too cinnamon forward & actually quite enjoyable.

Great mouth feel. Great flavor profile. I could definitely taste the cocao nibs, vanilla, and cinnamon. And the double milk stout makes this so velvety smooth with the perfect amount of carbon. I could drink a whole 750ml to myself this drank so easily. Awesome beer.

On draft at Mikerphone. Dark black body, one finger mocha head, good retention, no lacing. Smell is big and bright cinnamon and chocolate, touch of vanilla, light earth, a bit of lactose and milk chocolate, not unlike the One Man Wrecking Crew for example. Most likely similar base double milk stout. Flavour follows, although the cinnamon takes a more of an astringent spiciness on the palate, that the milk chocolate covers up some but doesn't quite make it all the way. It's still delicious nevertheless, and the adjuncts shine nicely here otherwise. Mouthfeel is medium fuller bodied, good carbonation, smooth and silky, spice and cinnamon on the finish. It achieves that Abraxas-level excellence of cinnamon on the nose and tastes great, although the cinnamon could have been better integrated here. I enjoyed this a bit more than the barrel-aged version.

Slick oily black with the thinnest tan ring.
Smell is certainly cinnamon, but has an odd minty Carmex sort of aroma that covers up some mild roastiness.
Taste more effectively features toasted cinnamon and brown sugar, like Pop Tarts with chocolate covered raisin, as well as sweet vanilla that almost turns into a sort of cough syrup flavor, with a full, smooth round body and dry finish.

So let's start with the smell, because it is wonderful. Think cinnamon toast with some vanilla pop at the end. This fullness and cinnamon spiciness is reflected on the body too, almost giving it winter warmer texture to the stout complexion. The taste was ok though because there was this shredded wheat aftertaste that was abrupt and way heavier than all of the light complexity it had going. Good, but could be great
