12 ounce bottle into a snifter. Had 9/28/18.

Pours near black and opaque, with a quarter inch quickly dissipating head and some spotty cling. The aroma starts with a big blast of cinnamon, followed by chocolate, cocoa, toffee, malt, some vanilla, light oak. The flavor also ignites with the cinnamon, although not as much as the nose. Vanilla, malt, some chocolate, light bourbon, a little coconut. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.

The cinnamon is incredible, and it’s really good overall- if mostly straightforward. The barrels are fairly non- existent, and as good as it is, there’s a pretty high price point that comes with that barrel aged stamp.

Had on tap. The barrel is just what this beer needed. The body became cognac smooth while still keeping the winter warmer like spice textures. The smell, now having bourbon to go with the vanilla laden cinnamon toast crunch, is magnificent. The taste lost the aftertaste of shredded wheat and got bourbon instead... Upgrade!

On draft at Mikerphone. Dark black body, one finger mocha head, fair retention, no lacing. Smell is similar to the non-barrel-aged version; cinnamon, milk chocolate, cocoa, slight earthy roast, a fair bit of hot barrel, although some of it could have been the cinnamon's spice. Flavour is similar to the non-BA version, with the addition of a hefty spirit heat to it. It kind of amplifies the astringency of the cinnamon, which I think doesn't come across so well here in this stout. I'd have liked more sweetness to go along with the cinnamon, like cinnamon toast crunch. Still, a very nice stout. Mouthfeel is medium fuller bodied, fairly solid carbonation, earthy and astringence accentuated by some whiskey heat on the finish. I think the adjuncts are better showcased in the non-barrel aged version. They might consider brewing a special base beer for their barrel aged stouts.

Deep brown to black in color with a very narrow ring of head

Nose is sweet cinnamon malt

Taste is cinnamon and vanilla with sugars throughout. Subtle bourbon.
The smallest bit of barrel comes in on the back end.

Mouthful is full and heavy with little carbonation. Finish is smooth.

For me this is a touch too sweet but don't let that stop you from trying it. I would advocate trying this next to Cycle Double Barrel Cinnamon for comparison sake. Balanced and smooth, the cinnamon really shines here. Not too much bourbon or barrel but stilly tasty.

Tasted in a tumbler from draft at the Mikerphone Brewing tap room on May 25, 2018. Double milk stout brewed with cinnamon, cocoa nibs and vanilla then barrel-aged. Recommended.

Bottle. Tan head.m that fades. Black color.

Massive cinnamon bomb. The vanilla is hidden because of this. Cocoa and chocolate. Some barrel shines through with a bit of warming notes. Strong. Finishes with more cinnamon.

Really solid, but I wish they used less cinnamon. Tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch aged in barrels.

Heaven Hills bourbon plus Cinnamon Toast Crunch plus chocolatey stout! This might be better than barrel aged imperial been spirit. Super impressed by this one from Mikerphone
