Imperial Smells Like Bee Spirit

Viscous black with some brown foam that settles into lacing and a ring. Smell is incredible: tons of maple, a more arid roast coffee, aromatic honey, caramel, fudge, and vanilla. Taste is sweet, with the maple and honey upfront, but then the waves of coffee hits sharply, with only the fudgey chocolate left standing by the end while still in a sweet matrix, balance of flavor is a little off compared to base beer but still delicious. Feel is sticky, heavy, sweet, viscous and smooth. Nice variant

 

 

 

 

 

Had from a 750 ML bottle from the brewery. Kept cold (mostly), a few weeks old.
L: A little more brown than a typical stout.
S: A lot of maple. I think I smell honey but not enough to differentiate.
T: Coffee forward, but well balanced with sweet.
F: Excellent, thick and works well with the type of beer.
O: I would say overall this is a very good beer, but I can't distinguish it at all from the regular Imperial Bean Spirit
