Smells Like a Canceled Beer Fest

2020, am I right? Hopefully the beer doesn't reflect this year too. I of course had this from the can in my own home with the glass that came with it, neat. Pours an ashy black with a thin brown ring. Getting huge coffee grounds with hints of thin maple and butter chocolate in the nose, different from other in the series, lacks depth. Taste leads with the coffee grounds before a huge sickly sweet toffee flavor with smoke, metal and raisin come barging in. Where the usual smells like series is so good at melding maple and coffee, here it seems at war with itself. Feel is medium bodied, smooth but too smooth, besides sticky there is no character. Like 2020 this is a pass, but the glass is neat so here is to hoping better beers in the better years to come will fill it, so thanks for the metaphor mikerphone!
