They've got a thing that's called Rhubarb Love. They've got a wave in the air - Rhubarb Love. And if you're on such a quest for a most pastry-like, fruitcentric flavor in beer then you'll drive all night, your hands wet on the wheel too.
Bright and burnish mauve, Rhubarb Love simply mesmerizes the senses immediately upon the pour. It simply radiates a decadent scent of red berries, whipped cream and shortcake with hints of citrus. As a rounded aroma of strawberry shortcake takes the nose, its creamy-sweet taste is nearly as enticing. Vanilla cream, marshmallow and all-things-strawberry strike again on the tongue.
Getting past the magic show of the early palate, the backdrop of rhubarb, lime, lemon, crabapple and passionfruit from the natural souring of the ale cuts through the richness of malt and creates a surprising level of refreshment. While vanilla and cream reside underneath the red berries, the luscious beer closes with a brisk, clean and inviting acidity.
Although the trend in taste is becoming drying, there's always those waves of cream candy that ebb and flow throughout the session, as a constant reminder of the beer's dessert-like intents. If you're lonely and you're sure you've had enough, this beer brings comfort coming in from above - Rhubarb Love.

Cloudy reddish orange, initial burst of foam that fades to nothing. All I can smell is vanilla flavoring, unfortunately it eclipses the fruit aroma. Tart rhubarb and strawberry flavors, fruit forward and natural at first, with distracting artificial vanilla and lactose notes that creep in and linger, marshmallow in the aftertaste. Probably would have been better without all the extra adjuncts, though i’m not sure Mikerphone can brew without them at this point. Thanks to Lee for this one!
