Pours out as a nice rich black color with a thin tan head on top. The smell of the beer smacks you in the face with maple and coffee which is always nice. The taste of the beer follows trend with the nose, rich chocolate and maple with coffee rounding it all out. The feel is nice and smooth, fully bodied but not cloying. Overall I enjoy the hell out of these beers from Mikerphone, always great in my opinion.

So my feelings on the non-ba super! variant was a good beer but compared to the orignal the adjuncts proportion was a little rich. Funny enough I wasn't as wild about the BA ISLBS and I loved this one. An interesting reciprocal nature of the SLBS series apparently. Why this works is the bourbon barrels with the coffee cut through the maple, chocolate and vanilla forcing more of a balance. It isn't just sweet atop a coffee stout, it is boozy sweet that just works better. Nose has more barrel depth than the taste. Pitch black body, dark brown cap. Sticky, boozy, full, viscous, but has decent coffee notes. The wife liked it
