355 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8%. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Sweetish aroma of roast malts, coffee and loads of maple syrup. The flavour is not quite as sweet as I feared, but has again loads of maple syrup, also notes of coffee, moderate bittering hops.

12oz can poured into a snifter
A- pours jet black in color with a one-finger creamy khaki head that has good retention before settling into a film on top
S- aroma is bold with notes of fresh espresso and maple syrup, with undertones of chocolate, caramel, charred malt, heavy cream and more herbal coffee to close it out
T- super sweet up front with tons of maple coming through, immediately followed by herbal and earthy espresso. Mid-palate gives notes of sweet chocolate and caramel, along with more maple. The finish gives more herbal espresso, charred malt and maple. The maple lingers long after
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continues into a velvety, almost chewy finish
O- great coffee notes with a complimenting maple sweetness. The maple can get a bit cloying after a few ounces though

A nicely balanced coffee stout. A little bit of earthy bitterness balances the maple sweetness well. For having the name “Double Maple” I wouldn’t have been upset with even more, but this is definitely a crushable breakfast beer.

12 Fl. Oz. can
Served in a snifter
This beer pours black and is topped with an inch of mocha colored head that leaves spotty lacing.
I can a nice coffee aroma with an equally heavy dose of maple. The maple seems to have faded some since I purchased the four pack. The first one was all maple.
Big coffee flavor. The maple acts as a complimentary flavor. The can I had when I first got the four pack had a lot more maple. I about tasted like maple syrup. It is a lot less sweet at this point.
Medium bodied with a smooth and syrupy mouthfeel
Tasty and sweet. The abv helps. This beer is definitely not lacking in flavor or aroma. Good stuff but expensive.

Bean Spirit Double Maple is an aggressive maple and coffee stout focused on the supporting flavors. The maple is bitter and tame which is a nice surprise. Mikerphone has had a few over- the-top-sweet maples. This was a very good release.

Had on tap. So I loved most of the enhanced maple versions of imperial SLBS, the problem is with the regular it can't stand up to the sugar bomb of the doubled maple. Body is thinner and sugary. Taste coats the teeth with maple sugar leading to let down with the relatively small coffee and chocolate, malts are obliterated. Smell isn't as effected but is still unbalanced. But hey it looks pretty with the fat finger of brown foam on the dark body.

Kind of disappointing to be honest I guess by doubling the maple syrup it really covers all the great coffee and chocolate taste of the base beer. I mean it's still really good balance smooth very sweet but I did like the regular Bean Spirit better. Body is pretty smooth a bit of harsh roasts but overall easy to quaff back. Overall pick up the regular bean spirit it's definitely more balanced and has more depth than just syrup and dryness

Look: Pitch black with a thin mocha head
Smell: Straight up maple candy with a touch of coffee and Heath
Taste: Maple candy up front with a big body of toffee, cold brew, and Heath bars. The finish has more maple with a light vanilla and light gas station coffee finish.
Feel: Big and thick on the palate. Coats the whole palate and doesn’t let go. No bitterness. Big sweetness. Mild alcohol.
Overall: A tasty breakfast of a beer. Big maple and coffee. My first from these brewers and I really enjoyed it.
