Had on tap. Pitch black pour with a foamy brown head. Though we all enjoyed it, among my beer friends I appear to be the highest on this one, so let me make my case with one simple point: this absolutely nails the barrel. So many stouts struggle to simultaneously integrate and showcase the weller barrel, but this one does. Smell that wheated bourbon barrel is raging, while bringing along dark chocolate, earth, char, molasses, rye, and light tobacco. Taste is hotter than the nose for sure, but the barrel is assertive, earthy and smoky tones are welcome with the chocolate and molasses providing lighter balance. Feel is very warm, medium-heavy bodied, massive on the palate yet drinkable considering the impressive barrel character. While others will probably prefer to let this age, I found it great right now
