In January of 2020, Mikerphone loaded up a bunch of our hand selected Maker’s Mark Private Select bourbon barrels with an imperial stout made with rye. After a full two-year rest in the oak, they were ready to blend up. This is a beer for bourbon lovers - no adjuncts added, just rich base beer and bourbon-soaked oak. The wait is finally over, are you ready for this sweet sensation?
Decant into a snifter and aromas of molasses, pipe tobacco, and dark chocolate fudge rise from the glass. Massively thick across the tongue, expect a rich and savory mélange of dark candied flavors, with hints of caramel, walnut, and stewed plums. The finish is decadent and dripping with fudge, with lasting notes of toffee and chocolate cherry cordial.

750 ml bottle into a snifter. Released 3/2022, had 12/10/22.
Pours near black and opaque, thick looking, with no head and no lacing. Aromas of bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate, oak, vanilla, rye, some caramel, light tobacco and char. Similar flavors of bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate, oak, vanilla, rye, tobacco, light caramel and char. Smooth, a solid full body, appropriately carbonated.
Delicious, expressive barrels that give up many bright aromas and flavors, along with a great base. Best fully warmed.

Released March 2022; drank 3/22/22 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
An even pour yielded a minimal dark tan head which quickly dissipated; no lace.
Marble rye, bourbon heat, dark chocolate & mild oak notes in the nose.
Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Bourbon, oak, dark chocolate & black pepper flavors.
Spicy & boozy; not my favorite profile, but it's bold & interesting.
