Imperial stout aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels for 18 months and conditioned on Madagascar vanilla beans.

poured from a 500mL bottle into a TG Assassin teku. pours an oily black with an extremely thin dark brown cap. sweet vanilla frosted chocolate cake on the nose. slightest hint of bourbon. less sweet on the taste than on the nose. plenty of chocolate notes, vanilla / marshmallow, brown sugar and marzipan with bourbon and oak on the finish. medium-full mouthfeel that finishes a little on the thinner side. not a bad BA vanilla imperial stout. not overly complex. doesn’t even come close to bordering on sweet (by today’s standards) but could use a little more barrel presence.
