Imperial stout aged in a blend of E.H. Taylor and wheated Weller bourbon barrels.
Our friend Fred is one of the main coordinators of The Great Taste of the Midwest. He and his team volunteer their time and bust their butts to put on one of the best beer festivals ever. In excitement for the fest, we invited Fred down to taste through our barrels. He came down to Mikerphone and hand-selected this blend!

Had on tap. The look is typical for the series with a medium black body and a stout light brown head. The nose is too, tons of bourbon and wood complexity, slightly brighter than others in the series, some earthy grains in there too with rich chocolate, vanillins, and big molasses. Taste however is way boozier with way less wood and malt to balance, chocolate and molasses make the journey but the vanillins and earth tones get left behind. Feel is hot with booze, barrel character is there but not as developed as others in the series. Still an enjoyable blended barrel stout, but has some edges to be refined to catch the others in the series
