Mike Saboe, head brewer at Toppling Goliath, finds himself in the Chicagoland area to celebrate Thanksgiving with family. So when he was in town a few weeks ago, we brewed up Sus Sus Pseudio.
This double dry-hopped Double IPA is loaded with all of the types of Citra, including Citra pellets, Cirta Cryo, Citra Incognito and Citra YCH Trial 301 hops. The trial hops were flown in overnight from Yakima, Washington, to ensure to freshest characteristics possible.

slightly different than the typical Mikk flavor profile, a good collaboration in my book. Best to pick this up before it runs out!

16 fl oz. can, no canning information on the can, but these just dropped a few weeks ago, so I know they are freshies. Finally snagged a new one from Mikerphone; acquired the 4pk from the local Binny's.. Per the can: "Double Dry-Hopped Double India Pale Ale With Citra Pellets, Citra Cryo, Citra Incognito, And Citra YCH Trial 301 Hops". Now that's a mouthful.
Poured to appropriate Camp Crystal Lake stemless wine snifter as it is Friday the 13th. Cheers.
Intriguing can art pours a hazy juicy pulpy looking orange juice of a beer. Body is "Hazy" bro, "Hazy", with a good solid finger point five of soapy white froth for a head. Looks pretty damn dank and delicious if you do ask me.
Aroma takes a moment to ponder: is fresh, juicy, fruity, tropical, perhaps even a bit fumey, with some fresh alcohol / nail polish remover fumes. Notes of mango & pineapple puree. Has that traditional fruity / soapiness found in Mikerphone freshies.
Taste follows: juicy, fruity, tropical, pungent, with a slightly warming alcohol bite. Herbal notes do appear beneath all of the sweetness, with some traditional hop bitterness, but the finish is clean & juicy.
Feel is juicy, fruity, slightly heavy, but given the high abv and massive amounts of hops / dry-hopping that went into this, we'll call it fair. It was good, and the 4pk option is nice, although I do miss the days of cracking an awesome Mikerphone 750 ml with cool bottle art, and in my personal opinion, the "Hazy" IPA thing is up and overplayed. A beer doesn't always need massive massive massive amounts of dry-hop to be good, and though Mikerphone seems to have perfected and been near purveyors of Hazy / New England IPA style beer (in the midwest / Chicagoland area) they have yet to truly wow us with a regular ass all day IPA, the kind that isn't Hazy, bro, Hazy.
