A few months back, our buddy Sean from Pontoon Brewing Company out of Sandy Springs, Georgia paid us a surprise visit.
Sean decided to taste through some barrels and chose a lovely blend of a Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel and a E.H. Taylor bourbon barrel.
To enhance the fun, Sean sent us some fresh Georgia pecans. We toasted those up and added them to the beer along with some barrel-aged maple syrup from Dancing Goat Distillery.
Southern Hospitality is like pie in a glass.

750 ml bottle into a snifter. Had 9/29/23.
Pours near black and opaque, thick and oily looking, with no head and an oily film that sticks to the glass. Aromas of pecan, malt, chocolate, some vanilla, light bourbon, light oak. The flavor begins with a bigger barrel presence, then pecan, malt, chocolate, vanilla, light maple, light oak. Smooth, a little creamy, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
Lots of pecans, tasty barrels, not much maple. The aromas and flavors are mostly distinct and vibrant. Very enjoyable.
