Had on tap. I have loved every single Blends series I have had so far, so was pretty pumped to see this on the tap list. Midnight black body, brown head. Big caramel and molasses with date right away when given a sniff, cocoa, bourbon, dark wheat and oak, tobacco and faint vanillins, fitting right into the series so far. Taste is hyper sweet in comparison with the big, big, BIG caramel and molasses, sip and after sip their joint reign of terror grows in overwhelming the palate, only the rebellious dark grained whiskey barrels offer resistance in the last third of the sip. Mouth feel is lighter and wetter for the series, barrel character is great per usual but it feels cut off from the depth as the almost tangy sweetness grows. Good but not great, a low point for the series to date

500 ml bottle into a snifter. Had 6/17/23.
Pours near black and opaque, with no head and some oily cling. Aromas of bourbon, roasted malt, oak, char, chocolate, cocoa, molasses, some vanilla and tobacco. Flavors of bourbon, oak, malt, chocolate, vanilla, cocoa. Has a spicy taste and a light sweet note. Smooth, a solid full body, appropriately carbonated.
This is excellent. The spicy barrel blend is incredible, and the base is as good as the barrels. Lots of hearty aromas and flavors.
