No bottled date (believed 2023). Poured at 56°. Quick thin dark tan head of mixed bubbles; no cap retention, ring nor lace; jet black body with a thin ruby ring and some clarity; thick legs on swirl. Strong sweet whiskey nose; boozy hot exhale. Sweet whiskey entry; charred oak; bitter sweet dark chocolate; some dark stone fruit in background; hot whiskey close. Boozy bite on tip of tongue; full face flushing and mouth heated warmth from 19.55% abv; silky smooth feel, not at all adjuncty; light carbonation; medium full body; dry barrel finish. Overall, quite impressive from mostly a barrel standpoint; a big boozy sipper for whiskey ba imperial stouts; no adjuncts, just dry rye and Jack sweetness; long hot charred oak and whiskey linger; to be fair, the barrel notes overwhelm the base notes, which for this high abv monster I kinda expected going in, and I’m enjoying sip by sip; way boozier than BCBS and nowhere near as balanced, but I like!
