500 ml bottle into a snifter. A 2023 release, had 1/27/24.
Pours near black and opaque, with a half inch head of darker foam and light, foamy lacing. Aromas of rye whiskey, roasted malt, chocolate, leather, oak, raisins, some vanilla, light bourbon. Has a bit of a spicy aroma. Fairly similar flavors: rye whiskey, bourbon, vanilla, malt, chocolate, raisins, some leather, light oak. Has a lightly spicy taste. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
This is pretty delicious. The aromatic and flavorful rye barrels really shine, and with the great base beer, there’s lots of distinct smells and tastes.

Coworker bought me one at the Mikerphone FOBAB party and I didn’t want to wait to drink it. Pours dark, quickly foaming tan head that dissipated. Smell is straight up whiskey barrel, with dark roasted malt, a bit of a maple scent as well. Taste is bourbon and roasted malt, mild sweet notes of maple and vanilla. Slight thick syrupyness, big bodied, bold, and boozy. Great beer.
