500 ml bottle into a snifter. Had 8/3/24.
Pours near black and opaque, with a quarter inch quickly dissipating foamy head and light foamy cling. Aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, roasted malt, chocolate, some coconut and oak, light bourbon. The barrels take charge in the flavor: bourbon, cinnamon, nutmeg, roasted malt, chocolate, some oak, light coconut. Smooth, a little creamy, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
Great aromas and flavors, but the overall flavor really explodes as it warms. The Amburana barrel adds so much to this, so spicy and delicious. The Pappy barrels also have a solid presence. Really enjoyable.

Wow. What an exceptional brew. Brewed Dec 2023, I drank this right out of my basement closet "cellar" which is probably 55 to 60 degrees. The Amburana barrel steals the show with notes of winter spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, gingerbread, and clove. I even get some hints of rum. Starting out with the smooth foundation of Pappy sets it up perfectly. This beer is on the same tier as other double barrel concoctions DBVSOJ and DBVSOD. Such complex flavor without adjuncts. I wish I had another. Well done.
