500 ml bottle into a snifter. Had 4/26/24.
Pours a mostly opaque dark amber color, with a quarter inch foamy head and light foamy lacing. Aromas of bourbon, caramel, figs, oak, macadamia nuts, plum, vanilla, light hazelnuts. Has a lightly sweet aroma. Similar flavors that shift a bit in presence: bourbon, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, caramel, malt, plum, oak, some figs and vanilla. Has a light sweet note. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
Quite tasty. Has a really good barleywine base, great barrels and the nuts show well, especially in the flavor. Aromatic and flavorful. Very enjoyable.

Sweet caramel and bran flake malty, dark fruity, a hint of hazelnuts, and a vanilla-bourbon barrel boozy nose on this one! Taste follows with some subdued toffee and dark fruit notes upfront...and then a mildly nutty, bourbon barrel boozy finish. I am not the biggest fan of additions to barleywines, but if you are going to use them, go for it! I think the deft hand in the nut additions was a touch detrimental. As it warmed, the nutty additions peeked out a bit more, but overall the finish came up just a bit short in the flavor intensity department...almost like it was a touch watered down. Pretty good...
