From the growler via the brewery in a snifter with a big thanks to Bluejacket74 and Laura
for taking the Little Lady and I there!
This monster pours a deep coal black with nice head of brown foam that sizzles to a thick
ring, thin dusty layer, and shows some nice light lacing. Nose of dark cocoa, dark coffee,
dark roasted malts, black strap molasses, and dark char notes with some dark fruit hints.
Flavors hit the note with dark cocoa, dark coffee, dark molasses, subtle anise, dark fruit
touches of black and raspberry, rich char and roast, and subtle cream hints. Very nice
mouth feel; full body, smooth, coating, rich, light but effervescent carbonation, and a
nice bitter malt finish.
Of note, there are some hop touches that appear with warmth on the herbal side.
Overall; a solid no nonsense imperial that delivers the goods!
Cheers!

Tried this on draft at the Columbus winter beer fest.
And it was amazing. Pours black as night. Looks thick and heavy duty. Nice brown colored head on top. The aroma is of a variety of dark roasted malts. Some coffee, chocolate, and molasses are present in the aroma as well.
Delicious roasty flavor. Some light molasses. Some dark coffee.
This is a full-bodied imperial stout. It's nice to see Lineage make a beer such as this one. It's hands-down the best thing I've ever had from these guys.
