Came here for a late night beer after hitting a few spots nearby. Because of the location it’s more of a party spot compared to most brewpubs but it works with a rooftop bar.

While it does hurt the soul a bit to pseudo-support ABInbev, I support the local brewer Whitney by choosing her beers. And man does she make some great beers. You will find the usual 10 Barrel mainstays but Whitney's creations change often. The atmosphere is typical of the Pearl District, a bit on the trendy side, but the roof deck is great in the summer. The pizzas are also very good.

Went here twice during my visit to Portland. Good beer and good food. First visit service was wonderful and friendly. Second visit the service was passable but seemed inefficient. Had separate people to take orders, another to bring beer, yet another to bring food! I gave the number I did because of the first visit. Recommended.

i was a little skeptical to come in here, given the recent sale of the brewery and all, i thought it might have been corrupted or something, but i was really wrong. this ended up being one of the best ranges of beer from top to bottom of anywhere we visited in the city, and i developed a newfound respect for these guys while i was in here. they are making plenty of beer in this location too, a whole bunch of original flavors not made at the other breweries, pretty neat to drink through these. the coffee porter was among my favorites, but the maine squeeze ipa was a great representation of the east coast style. the brewery is right in the middle of the building between the restaurant and the bar side, sort of acting as a divider between the two areas. the bar is great, long and concrete, it has several opening garage doors in front of it with a nice breeze coming in from the street. pizzas coming out of the kitchen looked awesome, but we didnt eat here. service was busy and a little overwhelmed, but we didnt wait long with empty glasses. all of the beer was really solid, way ahead of expectations, and this sort of changes my opinion a little bit about big business in craft beer. if they are just leaving it well enough alone, it shouldnt bother us as much, the beer here was fantastic and at the end of the day, thats really what its about.

Core beers a good. The location is fantastic. The small batch fruited Berlinerweiss are super flavorful.

We were in town for the Portland Brewer's Festival and dropped by this great spot afterwards. Killer beer and a great selection. I was told the food was great, but didn't try it. They offer a ten beer sampler, but we were too far gone to venture into that at the time. Great staff - bartenders knew their stuff. Definitely drop by, neat layout. Sit at the bar and watch the day go by outside, right behind the bar. Fun stuff!

Great beers, great pizza, great atmosphere. 10-beer tasting option is great, but not listed on the menu...don't miss it. 6-pack and 22oz bottle sales available as well as growler sales and fills.

After a recommendation from our bartender at Bridgeport and a stop at Deschutes across the street we found ourselves in 10 Barrel on our trip to Portland. It was later in the evening on a Monday so there weren't many patrons but the ones there seemed to be enjoying themselves and quite diverse.
We walked in and were greeted by the hostess who asked if we were eating food (we weren't but ended up ordering later) so we grabbed a spot on a large group pick-nick table like area next to the brew house. The dude came over quickly and gave us a minute to peruse the extensive list - we had been referred to a beer named "German Sparkle Party" which unfortunately was gone by the time we got there. I ended up going with an IPA and the girl went with a ginger something. The IPA (don't recall the name) was very juicy and tropical with a nice round bitterness - very up my alley.
Very my kind of place to - unpretentious, laid back atmosphere, nothing to hide behind just good beer with a casual come as you are style. The selection was great with sours, hoppy beers, stouts and a few other styles available. Our bartender gave us some great conversation as I picked his brain abit on the beers - and he asked how we heard about the sparkle party beer.
Overall, 10 Barrel was my favorite stop of the 5 or 6 breweries / brew pubs we visited on our first trip to Portland. Recommended.
