St. Peters Blonde

Appearance is very uninspiring; light golden colour with medium to heavy carbonation, builds up a thin layer of head. The lady at the Warren View Hotel was pouring for a while so that may have contributed to the lack of head, but overall nothing to distinguish this from your average plebeian blonde.

Nose is quite awful, nutty and yeasty and dusty. Doesn't yield much in the way of fruit or hops, just a whole overblown lagery aroma.

Taste isn't much better although the palate is suitably long. Sadly the front palate has little to offer, mostly a watery slide down to an acrid dirt flavour on the back palate. Slight hints of a bittering hop on the very back but it may just be that the mouthfeel makes my mouth pucker a bit. It's certainly not an amazing brew, very unimpressive and dull.
