this is tasty, maybe the cleanest of the beers we had here, certainly the better of the lagers too, bright and easy, simple in a good way, relatively authentically german to me too, especially on the grain side, a nice and fresh crackery malt base to this of the old world, and while the lager yeast is tame, its also right on, and i think this really checks all the boxes for the style without being exotic or anything, drinkable, good with fried food, and refreshing after a long day of travel. yellow golden and clear, short head from the tap but better carbonated than the other beers i had in here. this has some pep to it. aroma and flavor are identical, understated at first when its frosty cold, but it opens up into a well balanced and familiar lager, very mellow on the hops but those add freshness too and seem noble, just enough bitterness to crisp the finish but light in terms of the permissible style range, this is mass appeal pils no doubt. some light biscuit character as it warms, earthy wet minerality underneath, more from the yeast too, sparkling texture, relatively tidy finish, thirst quenching and the kind of beer i could have had a half dozen pints of, even with a slight estery thing in the mix and a little thinness to the mouthfeel. good but not amazing, scratched the itch.
