On tap at GABS Festival, May 2014.

Pours a brown colour, quite dark around the edges with pale beige head, foamy and retaining a decent but thin crown. Not a bad looking schwarz.

Smells mostly of dark malts. Chocolate, touch of spicy coffee, maybe a whisper of chilli. Not much else.

Taste is grainy, and just mildly dark. Sweet, and weak with a big cloying yeast character late-mid. Hardly any chilli comes through at all. Tastes sweet and yet utterly bland. Blah.

Bit of heat on the feel, but the body is completely watery. I get it's a lager but for an imperial lager it has no presence in the mouth apart from a mild lingering chilli heat.

I like chilli, and I like chilli in beers. The lack of chilli in this beer is the biggest insult. The beer itself, though, is also pretty poor.
