Found in the Böhle Delicatessen in downtown Vienna, the brown 33cl bottle features a multi-colored label with the name printed over the open-mouthed head of an apparently hungry crocodile. Ingredients conform to the purity law. The place to mark the "best by" date was left blank.

Pours a clear reddish brown under a thin one finger tan head that quickly fades to collar, leaving no lace. Very mild nose, with just a hint of plum and a touch of caramel. The mouth is light and quite prickly. The taste is pretty non-descript, featuring just of touch of fruit and a bit of sweetness. A slight bitter bite emerges late and lingers like a shadow at the back of the throat. While not horrible, it certainly isn't very exciting, either. No need to invest another 3 Euros (pushing US$5.00 these days) for this one.
