Growler purchased from Premium Draught in Houston.
A: Pours a near opaque black color. A dense beige head rises to over two fingers on a semi aggressive pour. Excellent retention and some lace left behind.
S: A good roast character. With a touch of char, coffee, chocolate. Simple and enjoyable.
T: Like the nose, the malt character is fairly straight forward, but very nice. Roasted malts, coffee, bakers chocolate. A bit of char and lingering bitterness.
M/O: A medium body with good carbonation. Ultra smooth as the style should be. Not overdone in any way, and just very moreish to drink. I will be done with the growler in no time.
I like this a lot. A simple, subtle, and old school Oatmeal Stout. I'll be looking for this some more, and easily the best I have had from 11 Below.
