Poured from can into tulip, good 3 finger dark tan head, good retention and lacing. Jet black in the glass, no light passes thru. Nose goes with roast and big barrel notes, some vanillin is there along with the promise of chocolate. Taste delivers, heave roast on the front, immediately followed up by bourbon notes fading into chocolate, vanillin and a slight spicy finish. Texture is almost creamy, nice job. There is a strong barrel note and chocolate/cocoa left on the palate. Most BA stouts now are pretty light on the barrel notes, but this one is pretty in your face. I can appreciate both schools.
