If nothing else the colour of this beer attracts me to it.
Pours a deep almost black colour but held to the light has a deep ruby red hue.
A nice creamy head to top off the appearance.
Taste wise it was what you'd expect for the beer and colour, without being oustanding. Nice toasted sort of character with hints of toffee or caramel perhaps?
A very good example of a porter, without being a great one.
