Park the car, don't drive it after drinking this. 8.9%, 70 IBU,
Double NE India Pale Ale. Generously hopped with Simcoe, Mosaic, and El Dorado hops in both the kettle and the fermenter, tastes of oranges, tangerines, tropical fruits, cantaloupe, and melons wonderfully mask the alcohol of this big beer. Brewed with barley, wheat, and oats.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color and has faint hues of amber. It poured with an eighth of a finger high off white head.
S: Light to moderate aromas of cantaloupe melons are present in the nose along with hints of oranges.
T: The taste follows the smell and is mostly dominated by flavors of cantaloupe melons. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer drinks quite well considering its strength given that no traces of alcohol are detectable in the taste. I also found it to be lighter in body compared to other beers in the style, which made it relatively easy to drink.

No date on the can. It was purchased on 9/15/18. I'm guessing its at least 60 days old. Was in the mood for a juicy IPA, and decided to pick it up. I've had lbipa from nj brewing, but no 902 labeled beer until today. The appearance is not like a NEIPA. It just looks like a hazy IPA. It does not look like orange juice. The smell is very sweet and very mango. The taste is sweet and balanced with a peachy quality. Medium to thick mouthfeel, and the 8.9% is very well hidden. The look is dissapointing but not the flavor.

Notes via stream of consciousness: So this is a New England style Double IPA? Awesome. It's cloudy, murky even, and yellow-orange in color. It looks like a glass of orange juice. The head is a finger-thick cap of fluffy bright white foam. It's right on for a New England style IPA. The aroma is bright and fresh with tangerine and perhaps a bit of lemon. I'd guess Citra hops were responsible for that but don't hold me to it. On to the flavor.... ahhh, very juicy, this is clearly a "juice bomb" with loads of tangerine/orange, sugared lemon, citrus pith, a hint of pine and resins, and just a touch of grapefruit. Very nice! A basic, sweetish malt balances the hops, and is then balanced by a solid bitterness (the label lists 70 IBUs but it doesn't seem that high to me). In the mouth it's medium bodied with a bit of a dextrinous edge, and a moderate, gentle carbonation that lends a little bite upfront but then softens to become smoother as it warms in the mouth. Looking back, the one thing that's lacking here is head retention and lacing. All I've got left is a thin collar, and there's only a few splashes of lacing that have stuck. Overall it's quite an enjoyable "juice bomb", they've hit the nail right on the head, AND it's a double IPA at 8.9% ABV - be careful with this one, it doesn't seem it!
