902 Brewing Co. "Light Rail Series: 9th St Hoboken - Congress St"
1 Pint can, contract brewed by New Jersey Beer Co. and coded "VALIDATE BEER BEFORE 10/11/19 10:35:03". Sampled on 08/09/19
$3.49 @ Roger Wilco, Pennsauken, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: I poured this a while ago and it sat for a few moments while I tried to read the information of the can and the two finger-thick head of off-white dropped into a beautiful, compact cap of creamy goodness! Very nice. The body is a cloudy yellow-gold that looks like it could be a Bavarian hefeweizen except for the missing bubbles streaming upwards. The aroma delivers notes of orange, peach, apple, lemon-lime, flowers, and a hint of actual yeast. It's bright and fresh and enticing. The flavor delivers a base malt that's basic, simply bready and sweetish, acting as a springboard for the hops. A firm bitterness balances it and it finishes dry. Beyond the fruity notes found in the aroma there's also some melon, light pine, a hint of berry, some spiciness, and a mild herbal character. It's interesting. The hops are listed as Amarillo, Citra, and Ekuanot. I get all of them but in general I'd think that the Amarillo and Citra would override the Ekuanot but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I guess it depends on how much they used, and when they used it. It's pretty damned good, I'll say that right now. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp with a standard carbonation, no surprises there. Ahhh, I almost forgot, apart from the excellent head retention it's also left some mostly solid sheets of lacing behind. That scores a 4.25 in my book. So, in conclusion, this might be the best beer I've had from 902. It's really nicely balanced, it shows off the hops nicely, and it's readily drinkable. I still have a pretty full glass to go but I can imagine having another one after this. Worth trying.
