Couldn't dig up much info on the brew aside from the fact that it is/was a limited treat from Allagash to celebrate Portland, Maine's own, Great Lost Bear's 35th Anniversary. From very limited notes typed into my phone I will at least add this to be reviewed.
A-Pours into a tulip glass. A dark, slightly murky amber color with a thin pinch of white, fluffy head.
S-Aroma immediately jumps out with a vibrant tartness. Tart berries and cherries with some residual sweetness and oak. Smells powerful underneath the sourness. Acidic backed with some sweetness.
T- Reminds me a bit of a Flanders style Bruin without as much sweetness. Very tart; a medley of underripe fruits. Oaky. Some caramel. Finishes with a little heat. Lingering sourness.
M-Tannic. A little hot. Puckering with a tartness that clings to my lips. Medium bodied. Relatively hefty feel compared to many sour brews.
O-A really awesome beer from a really awesome brewery to celebrate a really awesome brew. One of the highlights of my night at Great Lost Bear.
