This was an absolutely spectacular beer, and I struggled to describe just what was so amazing about it. I was reluctant to type up any significant review while sitting at Zwanze Day at Russian River, as any distraction from the place and experience would have been a shame.
It was an exceptionally balanced sour, blending bright lactic acidity with a bit of fruitiness and some well-restrained funk. Lemon peel, a touch of sour pineapple and perhaps mango, maybe even a little kumquat. The funkiness was restrained and only came through just in the finish. A wonderful surprise from Vinny on Zwanze Day, it was a perfect cap to an amazing event.

One of the biggest wows in a series of wows at Allagash WFD. An unreal experience. WIsh they bottled it so more people could experience it. The empty bottle I was able to snag will forever be in my bar.
