Bought a 32 ounce growler from the brewery on March 25, drank out of a Coolship glass 2 days later.
Look - poured gold and somewhat flat, a small amount of head around the edge.
Smell - a little floral but not strong.
Taste - smooth and mild, lacked the tartness, bitterness or acidity that you typically find in a lambic, and as a baseline, I haven’t had a bottled Resurgam in a while but I know it’s quite a bit different. The taste was a bit floral given the dry hopping, and there was a tad of Brett in there if you searched to find it.
Feel - again, a bit flat, but not egregiously so.
Overall - IMO, dry hopping doesn’t work with Resurgam - it seemed to take away all the goodness from the base beer. Having said that - I went into it with high expectations, and as a 6.4% “table beer”, said with no disrespect meant, it was perfectly fine, albeit not one that I would get again. Also, drinking a beer like a Coolship solo out of a growler was kind of a weird experience that almost harkened back to the growler days to begin with, but with Allagash, I don’t ever think I’ve had any of their fine wilds out of anything other than the 12.7 oz cork and caged bottles - I prefer the experience of slowly sipping every last ounce from them rather than feel like I have to move more quickly through a growler.
