I was eager to try this; I've long said that the beer world needs more dark wheat beers.
The brew is cola-colored and has a yellowish head.
There are wheat, clove, fruit and caramel notes on the nose.
The brew is pleasantly fizzy in texture.
It does not taste like a dark beer; there are no roasty notes. Generally speaking, while there are sweet, caramel notes on the palate, there is very little flavor here.
The nose improves as the beer warms. More clove notes emerge. An agreeable Band-Aid note also appears. The nose is more interesting in this beer than the palate. The label promises "roasty notes"; I detect none.
It *is* crisp and pleasant. The 6.8% ABV is felt after a few bottles but not tasted.
Drinking this was an exceedingly strange experience. The nose is interesting, but the palate is almost nonexistent.

A can poured into a pint glass. Pour had an impressive off-white foam head and a clear, on the lighter side of dark reddish-brown body. On the nose is a slightly sweet malt quality (can says dark fruits, and that seems possible) along with some bready notes usually affiliated with a wheat beer. Taste has the dark fruits making a solid showing up front before tapering off to a watery and wheaty flavor. Feel is a bit watery, smooth, and a slightly sweet aftertaste lingers along with just a touch of malty bitterness. An all around excellent offering that has a nice twist on the wheat beer genre.

Pours a dark ruby brown, big fizzy 2.5" head that slowly dissipates, solid streaks of lacing. Nose is lemon, yeast, hay; some light fresh baked wheat bread sweetness. Taste is moderately toasted malts, some dark fruit, doughy wheat, very light bubblegum. Sweet and bitter are well balanced here. Mouthfeel is full with small and sharp carbonation. Very approachable blend of malt and wheat.
