This wheat beer spent time with cherries and blackberries that had previously been used to age one of our wild beers. Using the fruit a second time is not only more sustainable, it adds layers of flavors to this wheat beer that we couldn’t get any other way. The result is a tart, berry-filled, multi-layered, and deliciously balanced beer.

Pours a slightly unfiltered golden color with a rocky white head that leaves a substantial cap on the body of the beer. Beautiful wheat beer.
The nose is led by tart cherries and blackberries, but they don’t overwhelm the base wheat beer, and that’s also what occurs on the taste. Very flavorful and balanced.
Drinks on the lighter side and is nicely crisp. I’d gladly drink this again, especially on a hot summer day.

12oz can courtesy of Roguer.
Poured into a teku, this was an initially very clear dark amber color, but quickly became chill hazed. Creamy eggshell-white head.
Tart, funky nose that carried more cherry than blackberry aroma in terms of the featured "second use" fruit. Bit of a lemony aroma as well.
Taste was slightly more complex than the nose. Tart, sour and fruity up front, which is where the cherry and blackberry flavor are most noticeable. While not a wild ale itself, the funk from the first usage of the fruit tastes like it carries over with a subtle aftertaste. Otherwise, the fade out is dry and puckering and reminds me of lemons.
Fairly light bodied, slightly crisp mouth feel.
Nice warm(er) weather beer. I'm enjoying it after dinner tonight. Thanks, Roguer!

Pale, dirty straw yellow and peach color; dense, small bubble carbonation; big head, foamy and spongy; decent rings and partial sheets of foam inside the glass. Strawberry and nectarine smell; fairly bold; lemon drops. Mouth puckering sourness greets the palate; lemon, strawberries, pineapple and cherries. Medium-heavy body; mildly effervescent; bold tartness; modestly sweet juiciness.
This is a very tasty and righteous sour ale. I believe the wheat base really adds to the smoothness of the mouthfeel and aids the flavor from the fruit and yeast. A nice treat...

Thanks to Roguer for this one. 12oz can (dated 8/30/21) poured into 14oz teku. Poured an almost translucent muddy pink color with a half-inch of white head that had moderate retention and no lacing.
There was a definite tartness on the front of the nose, with a light fruit scent behind. No real grain or yeast in the olfactory aspect.
Pretty similar on the tongue; nice tartness and light fruit, without much of a 'beer' component.
The body was light, carried good carb, and had a dry finish.
Drinkability was good, this would be a very nice warm weather quaff.
Overall, a solid and enjoyable brew that might have benefited from a fresh fruit addition, along with the second use fruit. Worth a shot if you see it.
