This subtly sweet and roasty Belgian-style dark ale combines notes of dark chocolate, toffee, caramelized sugar, and a hint of coffee. Brewed with a variety of specialty malts and fancy molasses for a profile that’s as hard to define as it is easy to enjoy.
Grains: Special Blend, Munich Malt, Carawheat, Brown Malt, Blackprinz
Hops: Nugget, Northern Brewer
Yeast: Belgian

Pours an effervescent chestnut with a pinky of tan head. Okay head retention & lacing
S: Some juicy fruit, pears, cocoa, fades a bit down the stretch
T: Follows the nose, very dry, with a mushroom meatyness to it up front, a touch of woody hops, plus some brown sugar. Picking up some coffee as this beer warms up, a little cocoa, more juicy fruit, some toffee & a general woody/dry flavor. Finishes dry with woody/mushroomy notes, plums & toffee sweetness
MF: Medium body, slight carbonation
Rock solid take on the style, pretty complex for the ABV & style
