Appearance: Clear yellow, good head.
Smell: Cloves, wheaty.
Taste: Mildly sweet to start, then a mix of spices-clove and pepper. A bit of funky Belgian yeast. Medium-light body. Finishes dry with a bit of citrus.
Overall: A lingering beer I received in January as a gift, Allagash reminds me that I should have drank this sooner. Very nice witbier, spicy and dry but with enough sweetness for balance.

I went through a craft bear spell 6-7 or so years ago, but rarely drink anything over a 4.2 domestic these days.
Picked these up randomly as they were selling down. Glad I did.
For sure, one of the best tasting 7.5 ABV beers I have ever tasted.
Sip em ice cold, if you can!
Lol.

I mean. It’s an Allagash Wit. So yeah. Great. I’m not a huge ginger fan but it’s subtle. Winter beer? If u say so.

Pours a hazy straw color with a one finger bright white head with nice lacing. The aroma has citrus, ginger, coriander, and cloves. Tasts just like it smells. Has that classic wheat beer flavor with all the qualities I listed in the aroma. Maybe a little banana in the taste also. Light bodied and easy to drink, with soft carbonation and a light citrus and banana ater taste. A very nice beer.

Allagash Brewing Co. "Ski House"
12 fl. oz. can "PACKAGED 09/23/25 11:30 9082" and sampled on 12/18/25
$2.29 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: So it appears that this is a Belgian witbier (perhaps their "White"?) with added ginger and maybe something else. It's got the typical witbier appearance with a hazy yellow-gold body and bright white head. The head has dropped a bit since I poured it, becoming shorter but also much creamier, and it's holding fairly well. The aroma displays ginger, citrus, and woody coriander. It's slightly different than a standard witbier with the added ginger and perhaps a bit of extra citrus, but it's certainly not overdone. On to the taste then - it's the same, everything's clear but not overdone. The malt is bready and lightly sweetish, and the spices balance it nicely. I like the extra zing that the ginger gives it. It finishes dry, spicy, and woody. What's the ABV? 7.5% - I had to check that because it feels bigger than a standard wit, and there is an alcohol presence to it. Yeah, this guy, and I mean the beer itself, wants to party! It's very approachable if you like spicy beers, and you might plow through this a little too quickly before realizing its potential. In the mouth it's medium bodied on the fuller side, and crisp with some extra bite from the ginger. I got a lot more than I bargained for with this one and it makes a great sipper on a snowy day.

12/13/25 - (Can, Home) (Chicago, IL) Can Notes: Purchased at Beer on the Wall on 12/10/25 at store temperature for $2.84 including tax, refrigerated until opening this afternoon. 12 oz canned 10/6/25 @ 5:03 PM. 7.5% ABV Winter White Ale. Brewed and canned by Allagash Brewing Company in Portland, Maine.
Cozy up, or let the festivities commence, with the notes of citrus, spice, and fresh ginger you'll find in Ski House. This full bodied wheat beer is brewed to bring you the cheer of snowy haven, no matter where you happen to enjoy it.
Appearance: Full pour into a large tulip glass yields a generous bright white bubbly creamy head which leaves generous soapy lacing over an unfiltered yellow straw orange base yielding heavy sustained carbonation. 3.75
Aroma: Peach, citrus, coriander, all playing nice at a medium strength level. 4.0
Taste: Consistent with the aroma, peach lead coriander backing. Lighter in strength than the aroma, chill. 3.75
Mouthfeel: Unexpected prickly carbonation slowing me down. Drinks strong for a wheat beer, but under the high for the style 7.5% ABV. Still gets you halfway in. Sweet overall, sweeter than anticipated. coriander for the finish win over citrus. 3.5
Overall: This is a good offering, carbonation holding back a higher score on my end. Would like to try a draft version. I'd take a White over this one. 3.75
