Pours a clear deep honey amber with a finger of foamy head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring with some lacing. Malty, ready aroma. Taste follows nose. Clean finish.

I had this on draft 6/6/24 @ Laschet's Inn.
Mostly opaque dull orange/brown appearance.
Big tan head; strong, frothy lacing remained.
Honey, soft wheat & mild caramel notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Sweeeeeet honey & soft wheat flavors up front; mild caramel notes on the finish.
Too sweet for this timid soul.

On tap at Rossotti’s Alpine Inn, served in a plastic beer cup. Slightly hazy amber gold with a nice froth of white head. Grainy malts, honey, fruity and floral notes. Flavor continues with a smooth malty body, more bread and honey, and balancing earthiness. Relatively low bitterness or hop notes. Medium body with slightly subdued carbonation. Unexpected and unique, an easily sessionable brew that hit the spot after hiking Arastradero Preserve.

love a beer like this on tap, in a dimpled mug, as good as it gets for the german stuff like this. malty and unfiltered looking, this has a matte light amber color to it with a heaving off white head all airy and lasting. big nose here, very autumnal to me, even a red apple note somewhere in here, a baked maltiness too, nutty and toasted, still classically german, and the lager yeast is ancient and interesting, with a breadiness of its own, and this seems to have a unique water chemistry underlying it all, an earthy mineral base, no real hops at all, but an interesting back end nevertheless. flavor matches the aroma, maybe not super fresh, but i dont need it to be in this style, and the slight apparent malt fade is actually a little flattering. apple cider, toffee, almond, and just a little residual sweetness. i love the old world lager yeast in this, and its obviously classically german, it really makes this for me. solid with fried food, but it doesnt need the context and stands almost like a meal on its own, lots of grain character all through it and a fuller body. glad to encounter this, a style we dont see enough of!

Poured a deep couch amber. Great smooth taste. Real easy drinking. I could session this beer all afternoon. Yep that's what I plan to do with the whole 4pm of pints. This is a great beer.

Pours a deep, slightly murky amber with a thin head
Nose is soft and bready like fluffy white bread, faintly fruity and floral notes
Taste is lovely, rich bread crust and floral flavors play well together
Mouthfeel is soft and rich with W crisp finish. Really pleasant to drink, could easily drink this by the pitcher
Overall this is a really pleasant beer. It's my first Kellerbier or zwikl so if there are better examples I can't wait to try them. One of the most pleasant and easy drinking beers I've ever encountered
