Collaboration with Odd13 Brewing

This version of Operation CoHoperation is crafted on a base of Thomas Fawcett Maris Otter malt, Flaked Barley, Triticale (a hybrid of Rye and Wheat), and a fun Blue Serenade malt from Troubadour Malting out of Colorado. The hop showcase here are two hot new South African hop varieties - Southern Star and Experimental variety XJA2.

This is the second in the Operation Cooperation series from Lupulin. The first was with Barrel Theory, came out several months ago, and I quite enjoyed it. It never appeared here in the Nib. I had a keg of it on tap at Acadia, and that's where I enjoyed it, but I rarely review the beers that I drink there. When I saw it in stores, I wasn't sure I wanted to pay $16 for a 4-pack. Well, too late now. This time around, when I saw it, I got it, $16 4-pack be damned.

Heavily hazed, clouded, thick bright orange coloration, slim white head.

In the nose: Sweet and lovely. Major fruit notes. Flush with citrus.

In the mouth: Alive with grapefruit and orange, lemon and pine. Hop bitterness, ahoy! Bitterness lays long on the palate. Delicious. I'm still not too keen on the hazy stuff, but I'm enjoying this. Good IPA, and you can drink it.

Collaboration with Odd13 brewery, Lafayette, Colorado.

First off, this is not a brown ale. It is most definitely an east coast style IPA with an appearance very close to orange juice. One of the muddier looking IPA's in terms of cloudy and dense looking body's of beer. Head is small and white and settles out and down rather quickly.
This is my 2nd can and as so often happens there seem to be differences between the two experiences, despite being from the same 4-pack.
Bits of sweetness wrapped in the tropical fruit aroma. Not strong but pleasant and pleasing.
Bitterness seemed more apparent after it warmed with my first can. This time it is evident from the start. Less blending this time. Definite hop flavor with a tropical fruit emphasis. Full body for a beer this size with a softness and smoothness that enhances the taste. As it warms it becomes a more well rounded experience. The bitterness balances more but it is still surprising bitter beer (which I noted esp as I consumed something else). As it peaks it proves a rich experience.

Some new hops in this so I have no idea what to expect. What I get is a lot of bong resin, tobacco, ganja, earthy moss, pine, etc. You get the idea. Grungy, dank. The aroma is a real strong with those characteristics and the taste follows through to a lesser but still hearty degree. Deeper notes of pink grapefruit and oranges also evident.

Medium bodied.. big hazy, muddied orange juice looking pour. No head. Light lacing. Good piney bitterness on the finish. Smooth, creamy texture.

I'm really liking this. LOVE the aroma. Top notch.

Poured from 16oz can into glass. No canning date information found on can, but the label does admonish to "Drink it fresh and enjoy!".
Murky, pale gold colored body. One finger white head results from a easy pour. Some trails of lacing left behind.
Mango, orange, and grapefruit for smell, but also has floral aspect, and a little onion/garlic.
Taste is more sweet and juicy than suggested by the aroma. Quite a bit of orange and grapefruit citrus, along with the floral hops note. There is a touch of resin bitterness, but this is mostly on the tongue, and the juiciness is not overwhelmed.
Medium to thick mouth feel, with an aspect of syrup. Good carbonation.
I had a sample of this as a tap pour at Buster's on 28th (Mpls MN), and the beer was a total hemp bomb for both aroma and taste, very dank and resinous. From the can the beer is a crushable juice bomb, with a tiny bit of dankness at the end. Interesting different first impressions, based on delivery mode. Both were good, but I will have to use the experience from the can because of a greater volume, allowing for more sampling.

Pours a hazy dark straw yellow color . Smell was tropical with mango, grapefruit, and oranges Taste followed nose get mango up front with zesty citrus.and some spice, little bit of pine resinand fair amount of malt . Mouth feel is hoppy and sharp with citrus lingering pine bitterness. Bought 2 can and that will be enough for me,will wait a couple of weeks to see how this mellows.
