Deep mahogany hue, thoroughly opaque, slim brown head, looking quite lovely.
In the nose: soft, even delicate, notes of cocoa, dark malts. Widening up, expanding in scope and flavors.
In the mouth: From the kick-off, sweetness floods the palate. Flat-out tasty. Full-bodied. Layer upon layer of yum. I can't stop loving this.
And that's all I have to say. Find it, drink it. Coming up: Hazelnut, & Raspberry.

Poured from 12oz can into glass. Stamped canned on date is '11/01/18'.
Dark brown colored body, with some garnet colored back lit highlights. Aggressive pour yielded a one finger light tan head, which slowly recedes to a thin cap. Leaves behind a slight curtain of lacing.
Aroma of coffee first, and then some liquid chocolate. Malts and hops add in.
Taste of liquid chocolate, but there is also coffee here. Both the chocolate and coffee are bitter (baking chocolate). Rather short taste profile, not much of an after taste.
Thin to medium mouth feel. This is disappointing, as the aroma and taste suggest a more decadent beer experience. Okay carbonation.
What aromas and flavors there are are quite attractive, but the beer drinking experience is short lived and does not fulfill the brewer's description of decadence.

Imperial Chocolate Truffle pours black, with a long lasting lacing tan head. Creamy aroma, with hints of natural chocolate. Flavor is creamy, nice chocolate flavors. Good feel. Overall, a very nice and easy to drink good bodied chocolate porter.

It's interesting how inappropriately named this beer seems to be - it's sum and parts seem to point to light coffee roast and cream porter, with a very thin body, and understated chocolate sweetness - sort of the opposite of what I'd expect of a truffle. The coffee is just bitter enough that I do not like this beer at all. It's not a bad beer, but it's certainly not a good one.
Lupulin's IPAs generally make a very happy man, but their stouts are consistently underwhelming - this is about what I'd expected.

Not a lot of sweetness. More bitter tasting. First sip left a strong alcohol after taste.

This is an immensely disappointing beer. Looks and feels like a nice big porter but the aroma and flavor are flat. Bitter chocolate which I do not mind, but there is little else to help out besides alcohol heat.
