Deliciously decadent, this Imperial Porter is infused with the rich flavors of chocolate and hazelnut. A beer this smooth and silky ought to be a sin. Sometimes it feels good to be bad...

This is good. Rich but not desert stout/porter like. . Hazelnut notes are very subtle. I also get some light raspberry. Nice chocolate backbone...big dose of roasty malts....a little hit of booziness..
This is good but I personally would like to see the hazelnut notes a lot stronger in flavor and aroma.

Lupulin Imperial Hazelnut Truffle Porter, 9% ABV. Pours thin and black, with a real nice three-finger finger foamy light brown head, that left tons of nice foamy lacing. Nose is...attached to my face and not smelling much. Taste is bitter roast malt, not tasting hazelnut or truffle. Decent mouthfeel, overall very good. Could have been excellent except for the heavy bitterness, certainly not a pastry porter. Never picked up any taste or smell other than roast malt.

Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Roasted malts and chocolate with hazelnut on the nose Taste follows suit with vanilla and roasted chocolate malts. Mouth feel was sweet with prevelant chocolate. I liked it.

Pours a deep dark brown with a thick mocha colored head. Good retention and great lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malt with a faint whiff of chocolate. Flavor is a bit bolder, follows the nose but the sweetness of the chocolate comes out front more. Hazelnut also now present. Feel is creamy and smooth. Overall a very nice dessert beer.

Dark brown, opaque rich tan head on top.
In the nose: Sweet and malty. Nutty. Chocolatey. Mmmm. Ah, yes. Utterly lovely.
In the mouth: Bigness and richness. A mountain of malt. I'm getting the hazelnut, large, with additional doses of vanilla, cocoa, espresso. Smooth and delicious. This one went down in no time. I slurped it, nearly guzzled it. Mighty fine.

Poured from 12oz can into glass. No canning date to be found, but most likely a November 2018 canning.
Dark cola brown colored body, with a bit of garnet see through when back lit. Slight light tan head, disappears quite quickly and leaves a thin ring. A few spots of lacing after each sip slip back down into body.
Faint aroma of chocolate, with a nutty hint.
Taste of chocolate and dark fruit (prune and raisin). Slight nutty note.
Medium plus mouth feel, smooth. Good carbonation.
Not much for smell, but really expresses well with flavors. The combo of chocolate, dark (slightly tart) dark fruits, and the nut (also slightly sour) is pleasant and not often encountered. Certainly not a sour beer, but more of a dark dessert porter that reaches deep.

Imperial Hazelnut Truffle pours a back color, with a very small, tan lacing head. Weak aroma. Flavor is creamy, some sweet hazelnut notes, and then a very light chocolate finish. Good body and feel. Overall, a very nice and easy drinking porter.

Picked up as part of a mixed four pack, which is a stellar idea for those of us with beer commitment issues. 12 oz. can dated 11/8/18.
The pour is porter black, which you can find in any hobby store paint rack. Aroma is just as advertised, plenty of hazelnut & chocolate. I like both.
Imperial Hazelnut Truffle is just about the end of the review. Chocolate, hazelnut, dusting of brown sugar & cherry pits. Surprising amount of chest-warming alcohol for the ABV, & simultaneously a bit thin for it. Too sweet to entertain anything more than a dozen ounces.
Nice hazelnut beer, which ain’t easy to pull off. Pretty good brew.

I would put this firmly between the Raspberry and Chocolate Truffle versions of this beer.Tastes a bit artificial which all hazelnut flavored items do, but there is enough there to want me to finish the beer.

This beer pours a simple black with a solid, sustaining brown head. The aroma is soft and sweet, with milk chocolate. praline, and dark, dried berries. The flavor is sweet, with a big dose of raisin and prune, milk and dark chocolate, mild coffee, and a bit of praline at the back end. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, with a sweet, sticky finish. Overall this a a solid, if unremarkable dessert beer - sweet, well flavored, but a bit lacking in depth.
