Mighty Wet is a Wet Hop IPA brewed with wet, whole cone Mighty Axe Hops, grown just up the road in Foley, MN. These hops barely make it off the line before they were infused into our wort to extract the most aroma and flavor as possible. We took it a step further and did a second infusion with freshly kilned hops. Needless to say this IPA is a pursuit of the most banging hop character possible.

L-Relatively clear golden color.

S-Floral. Pine. Tobacco. Ganja. Earthy. All that and then an almost fruity pebbles like note emerges.

T-Relatively balanced with a white bread crust like maltiness and earthy, floral hops. I do get the sweeter fruity notes on the finish.

F-Medium bodied. Maybe light side of medium. Clean.

O-Nice wet hop beer with some unique fruity aroma and flavor characteristics blended with the grungy, earthy hop notes.

Clear and honey-gold hued body displaying a decently thick and rocky white head. A rather dull yet intriguing aroma; light esters and soft malt grain suggestions. An incredible taste experience; spicy, malty with melon-like fruitiness; kind of minty; peppermint; fresh musk and honeydew melon; bread crust; very subtle hop bitterness. Medium body; combination of dry and juicy; mild bite to the palate.

For a relatively old wet hop IPA (canned 09/17/19) this beauty retains some mighty fine spicy, fruity and grainy flavor elements. Everything blends together nicely, maintaining a lovely balance and complexity throughout the tasting experience. Quite nice and very unique...

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/17/2019. Pours sightly hazy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, caramel, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, caramel, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, caramel, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth. creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is a delicious wet hopped IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Nicely soft and not aggressive. Tastes like 100% Centennial hops. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized dark/bready Munich malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made Midwest style example. Reminds me of Founders Centennial a lot.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip.

Pours a slightly hazed amber/gold with a nice head and good lacing.

The aroma is very subdued. Caramel malts and vague citrus aromas.

The brew hits the tip of the tongue with tons of malt sweetness. Honey/graham cracker arrives in mid-stream. It's only at the finish that the hops arrive, mostly grassy and earthy. The flavors are somewhat vague and muddled.

The brew is solidly medium. Smooth, creamy, and slick. A bit more carbonation would have brought this quaff home.

This is a decent but unremarkable wet-hopped brew. The flavors are subdued and muddled.

Pours a clear apricot copper color with a thick white cap. Decent retention and good lacing. Aroma is mild caramel malt with a whiff of citrus. Flavor is also mild, but a bit more assertive than the aroma. Feel is light bodied. Overall a nice enough beer but without any stand out qualities.

It's not hazy. I will give props for that. This is one of those beers that tastes great initially, but the deeper into the glass I get, the less I like it. Has a weird fruity medicinal finish. Otherwise the beer is solid.

One of the only fresh hop beers on the shelves (which is sad when you grew up a PNW guy), I got a 4 pack of tallboys and this is the last one, into a willibecher. A very welcome change from the constant NEIPA fruit bombs. Pours a clear copper amber, with a 1 finger pill white head, good retention, not much lacing.
