A big, chewy malt base heavy in oats gives way to a massive hit of tropical and citrus hops. With more hops than we’ve ever put in our custom built whirlpool, then finished with a massive dry hop of Citra, Sabro along with a cool new hop blend from New Zealand called Motu.
Hops: Citra, Sabro, Motu, Mandarina Bavaria, Ekuanot, Columbus
Malts: Pale Ale, Oats, Chit, Crystal

Dirty, cloudy yellow body; relatively thin and soapy white head. Standard hazy aroma comprised of citrus and grapefruit notes. Dull, sweet malt base with a fairly bitter overtone. Heavy body; crisp and stingy on the palate; mainly dry overall.
There isn't much to this beer to separate it from most other NEIPAs. Specifically, there was no distinctive character of any particular type of citrus or stone fruit to pickup on; it all seemed to be rather muddled in the smell and taste. The can bottom displays "CANNED ON 10/24/19", so it's not too old per se. Other than palate fatigue playing a significant factor in my impressions with this tasting, there just isn't much to get excited about with this beer.

Sophistry 4 pours a hazy, bright orange color, with a small, lacing head. Big juicy, fruity aroma. Flavor is sweet, very juicy, with great floral notes. Good body and feel. Overall, its on the sweeter side, very flavorful and very good.

Hazy, bright golden, large and lasting ivory froth atop.
In the nose: bright, fresh, zesty, lovely stuff. Mostly citrusy with a touch of tropical sweetness.
In the mouth: Mmmm. I'm in a happy place. Fresh and zesty, lightly bitter, plentiful payload of hoppiness dropped on the palate. Delicious. Bitter, dry, delightful. I'm enjoying this tremendously.

Lupulin Brewing’s Sophistry 04 7.5% ABV 50 IBU. This IPA pours a hazy golden orangish yellow with a slightly off white colored head that lingers for a bit before leaving some lacing on the glass. The aroma is of fresh citrus mainly grapefruit lemon orange with a malty backbone. The flavor is of fresh oranges mangoes grapefruits with hints of passion fruit pineapples with a malty sweetness that finishes with a grapefruit peel bitterness to balance out the sweetness. The mouthfeel is fairly thin which I’m not overly happy with I think it needs more body but the carbonation level is right. Overall it’s a fairly decent IPA could be more complex but I’d drink it again if it was offered. 7/10

Dank citrus hop juice: what Lupilin does best. Tastes a lot like Blissful Ignorance, this being the IPA version of their popular DIPA. Most interesting aspect of this offering is the delay on the hop bitterness. Never experienced anything quite like it.

16oz can. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of grapefruit, pineapple and sweet caramel. Nice tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and malt.

Picked this up at Smyrna Beer Market, and really wish I'd bought a lot more. Just so delightfully chewy, slightly funky, and not overly sweet/fruited like so many hazies are today. Seek this guy out, stone delicious!

This beer pours like a thin orange juice. It has a bubbly light head of white foam. Very nice mild citrus smell with a really nice velvet like mouthfeel. Orange and mango flavor that has just the slightest bitterness and finishes clean. I've had my share of Treehouse NE style IPA'S AND EVEN though this beer isn't very hazy (not saying it's clear)...it truly reminds me of a traditional Treehouse IPA. IN FACT, it is just as good.
