Pours a hazy golden color with a white head. Smells of citrus, melon and mango Taste is fruity , juicy ,and tropical notes of grapefruit apricot and mango. A semi soft mouthful with som dryness, and pine . Like the lower ABV on this one and the hops.

Pours a murky apricot colored orange that's not really appealing, but the huge white cap that refuses to yield and leaves fantastic lacing kind of makes up for it. The aroma is full of tropical fruits. Flavor follows the nose, sweet ripe tropical fruit with a nice hop bite (more than you get from most NEIPA's) thankfully. Feel is soft and lacking adequate carbonation. Overall a fine beer from a local brewery that's a bit pricy.

Poured from a pint can into a Nonic--the weapon of choice for a few weeks now, just to get away from the "everything is a tulip beer" trend.
Pours medium/dark orange and cloudy. A nice off-white fluffy and foamy head sticks around and the lacing is excellent. A very fine NEIPA look.
Aromas of orange, ruby red grapefruit, peach, mango, pineapple, coconut, and a bit of evergreen needle.
The flavors follow the nose with a bit more citrus dominance, but less clarity. Sweeter citrus at the outset, white stone fruit in mid-stream and general resiny pine at the finish. The muddled flavors make this sort of "hollow" and bordering on watery for the style from a flavor standpoint, especially for a DDH.
Medium-bodied, it's very drinkable owing to some good carbonation and a drying finish.
This brew looks, smells, and drinks really well. But the DDH may have muddled the flavor a bit much, which keeps this from being an "excellent" as opposed to a "pretty darn solid" brew.

Poured from pint can into shaker pint glass. Stamped canned on 9/4/20.
A: Pours a super dark and murky orange-yellow hue with 1 inch frothy/bubbly white head with good retention.
S: Orange, pineapple, coconut, and hints of tangerine and pine.
T: Pineapple, pine, coconut, orange, tangerine, lemon, and a hint of lime. A bit of a hop mishmash.
M: Light-medium body. Citrus sweetness with mild bitterness throughout. Lingers nicely on the palate.
D: Not an excellent offering. I love the original Hooey and I can’t say this is an improvement. With all the different hops tossed in, this loses focus.

16 oz can from Fogey's, dated 9/4/20, into Boiler snifter.
Has a rather thick and juicy medium blonde body with a creamy head of 2 fingers, receding slowly and leaving lace as it does.
Aroma is pungent and wet Citra and Mosaic hops. There are few greater smells in the world to me than fresh hops. Very nice. The tones they give off are mainly citrusy and consist of orange, pineapple, grapefruit, and a little lemon. Throw in a touch of strawberry and melon. Only gripe is that I wish it were a little louder.
Flavor brings a muted and empty but fairly accurate representation of a double dry hopped juice bomb. The soaking wet rainforest tropical flavors are there, but they're hopelessly buried underneath water and baking soda. They do not poke through, I find myself searching for them. There is a savory aspect missing from this beer. It is anti-delicious, much like how a popsickle stick tastes.
Feel is juicy and acidic, with slight creaminess. The body, like the flavor profile, empties out rather quickly.
Overall, this beer tastes like a session IPA but has a triple IPA price tag. Major disappointment. While the flavor isn't necessarily off or inaccurate, it is so empty that you find yourself searching for the hops. This is a fresh can so the hops should be popping. The baking soda/salt water thing seems to be common with upper plains IPAs. It does not bode well for juicy beers. While tasty as a beer in general, for a premium IPA DDH Hooey is for sure a mediocre beer. It does not hold up overall, especially against other options from other states.
