Lupulin BBA Doppelbock, 10.8% ABV. Pours dark-brown to near-black with a 1.5 finger light-brown head that left slight lacing. Aroma is light caramel/toffee, bourbon and malt. Flavor is spicy, roast malt, caramel/toffee, bourbon, faintly sweet, moderately bitter. Decent mouthfeel, no bourbon burn. Overall outstanding.

From a 500 ml bottle purchased at the brewery. 2024 edition. 11.9%
Slight hiss upon opening the bottle. This beer is very dark looking. It has a dark amber/brown color. More amber when I hold it to the light. There's a light tan colored head that is 2 finger in size. Frothy looking with bigger bubbles. The head retention is what I would expect, and there's minimal lacing on the glass.
The aroma is quite strong with malts. I get a ton of caramel notes with hints of nuts. I also get a leather aroma off this beer. The barrel with rye notes and oak also hit my nose. All aromas are quite pleasing.
Taste - The flavors really mix together. The malts are the star of the show here. Getting caramel notes and a nutty flavor. Getting hints of leather. I get a good hit of vanilla and oak. I am also getting a good hit of the rye barrel in the flavor here with that unique flavor only rye can provide.
The body is full. Very smooth and full feeling. The body has that feeling rye gives to a beer that I just have a tough time to describe.
I am very happy and impressed with this beer. Glad I bought it.

B.A. Doppelbock - German-Style Doppelbock Ale Aged In Tattersall Distilling Rye Whiskey Barrels. Served from 750ml bottle purchased 1/3/20.
Half inch head recedes , leaving a thin light-tan layer with nice lacing. Ale is medium dark brown with hint of crimson. Aroma suggests of a barleywine with hints of caramel, smokiness and slight spiciness. Taste is much like aroma but more intense. Both slightly sweet and bitter malt flavor with caramel and roasty/smoky and some rye spiciness. Very drinkable. Mouthfeel is smooth, a bit creamy with just a slight bite of ABV.
This is dangerously drinkable (especially for its strength). Flavor gets better as it warms and my tastebuds adapt. I hope to pick up a few more for now and the cellar. A real winning score at the brewery.
