According to the brewery: “Collaboration with Ex Novo Brewing from Portland, OR & Corrales, NM. Ex Novo's hand-selected lot of Strata hops donated by Holingbery and Son. This is a crisp finishing Cold IPA from a base of Pilsner malt and New Mexican Blue Corn. We paired neomexicanus hops (Sabro) with a couple of standouts from the Pacific Northwest (Strata and Citra) to hit on this tropical and dank "Wester than West Coast" banger.”
From a tall boy into a tulip. Looks good — slightly cloudy dull gold, that kind of glowers in the middle of the glass. 2 finger head with good retention, but no lacing. Nose is candied orange peel, floral orange blossom, sweet bready pilsner malt, maybe just a hint of dank and catty citra (but not much…which reminds me that I miss beers that brought more of that note). Taste is clean but a satisfying level of juicy sweetness, gentle bitterness and weedy earthiness. Moderately full body, kind of wet, with a little hoppy liveliness on the edges and at the end. I wouldn’t mind a little more bitterness and bite, but this is very enjoyable.
