This is a classic throwback to the good old days. Good memories flood back into view of sipping that fresh India pale ale on a warm summer’s night with good friends. Malty, with a solid bouquet of fruity, citrus and woody notes.

Nice golden pour, big frothy head, some nice lacing. Nose says malt, no hops. Malty backbone, medium bodied.

cool beer, but i was bummed to catch it what felt like less than fresh, although i did not see a date on this, a little oxidation to it and perhaps a little overly malty then as a result, but well built, sturdy. looks like maybe they do two of these, a pale and an ipa, not positive, anyway, this is on the maltier side but still assertively hoppy. a crystal malt richness in the nose, some definite toffee type sweetness there, set against piney hops, bold but not real original to me, and seeming just a little heavy and unrefined without better apparent freshness, super sexy cans though, really sharp. the flavor is similar, balanced the whole way by an early onset hop bitterness and a long running baked malt depth, again big for a pale, notes of grapefruit zest and hash oil to this, some linger on the tongue after each sip, an oily slickness and a fuller medium body, but frothy feeling and well carbonated, wintery and bitter to me, good but hard to tell how good because of the fade. it has to be hard for these guys to get beer out this way all that fresh, so i can forgive it a little, a weird distribution choice too i guess, but its good to have them. hope to get a little more info on this one next encounter. important cause here too, so props for that.
