This Imperial Stout was boiled all night long to build beautiful complex flavors, then aged for 18 months in Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon barrels and Heaven Hill Bernheim Wheat Whiskey Barrels for good measure.

Brewed in honor of the brave female pilots who flew combat missions for the Soviet Union during the second World War. Only allowed to fly in outdated wooden bi-planes against the German enemy, these brave women had to fly only at night, shutting off their engines to glide in silently and bomb the German lines. The Germans nicknamed them the Nachthexen (Night Witches) as their gliding planes sounded like witches riding on broomsticks in the night

From a 16oz can. Canned on 10/19/2023

This beer is pitch black as I think a beer could get. There's no chance any light would shine through it at all. It also looks quite thick while pouring, in a pleasing way. It seemed like a still looking beer while pouring, but a 1 finger very dark brown head appeared, then rapidly disappeared. All that is left is a faint ring around the edge of the glass.
The nose on this beer is so full of dark fruit. I just am smacked in my nose with plum and raisin. These aromas are backed up by some chocolate and toffee.
Taste - Like the nose, the dark fruit flavors are strong in this beer. Plum and raisin are very strong, and last. These flavors are backed up and mellowed out by chocolate, caramel, toffee, coffee, and vanilla. A very pleasing combination.
Thick bodied and very full feeling beer. Very smooth feeling. There's a bit of a burn that hits and warms my throat.
Very solid RIS overall, and great for a cold day.

Night Witch pours a black color with a very small, lacing, tan head. The aroma is very sweet, with lots of bourbon notes. The flavor is very thick and sticky, with lots of very sweet bourbon, and strong. Good feel. Overall, a big and very sweet bourbon stout.

Lupulin Night Witch 2023 BBA imperial Stout, 13.2% ABV. Pours black with a ring of brown bubbles that left no lacing. Nose is bourbon and faint chocolate. Taste is roast malt and bourbon, slightly sweet, slightly bitter, with a pleasant bourbon burn. Excellent thick mouthfeel, overall outstanding. No add-junks here.

Can. I’m not sure what’s going on here. There is a green vegetable flavor up front, almost root or dirt like. Not sure what’s going on. I feel something is very wrong with this beer.

After that, there is a great bourbon flavor. Big oak and barrels. Vanilla, char, fudge.

I really want to like this, but I feel there is a huge flaw in the nose and up front.

Edit: beets. As it warms up more it tastes like beets.
