Poured on tap at the brewery in a pilsner, the beer is dark brown, almost black in the depths, with a foamy, clingy, light tan head. Aromas of booze, red wine notes, cocoa nibs, and coffee. Pretty wild blend of aromas. Flavors are tangy and dry red wine notes forward, with a chocolate and coffee blend follow, bitter hops, and earthy and woody highlights. A lot of the wine notes bleed in to this. Smooth and light bodied, with a dry, red wine and chocolate aftertaste. Subtle hops bitterness lingering around, too, on a smooth, dry, semisweet finish. Interesting.
